BUMPCAKE 25 WEEKS

Gender:  BABY GIRL!!!
How far along? 25 weeks 4 days
Baby Size:  1.5 lbs & 13.5 inches
Total weight gain: 16 lbs
Maternity clothes?  I have a few Maternity tops & I’m loving my Liz Lange yoga pants.  Still incorporating my own wardrobe. I did buy the Charlie dress from Stylemint as posted earlier & pictured above. I just ordered 2 sizes up & I love it! I bought a 2nd one in yellow.
Exercise:  A girlfriend and I signed up for prenatal  yoga through Floo-id Yoga.  Their prenatal yoga classes are located inside a store in North Scottsdale called Destination Maternity.  I absolutely loved it and plan on going every Saturday morning! It was nice to share experiences with other prego gals and the workout involved bonding with your baby, which I thought was sweet.  It was also a great way to de-stress and take a moment for yourself.
Miss Anything? Sleeping on my stomach! Of course I also miss wine, brie cheese, sushi, & turkey sandwiches.
How my life has changed so far:  My social calendar consists of prenatal education, a hospital tour, our baby shower, Matt has Daddy boot camp to look forward to, and I have the dreaded glucose test next week! All things baby already! I definitely panic a little and want to make sure I don’t become one of those Moms that are all consumed by their baby, I want to have a social life too!
Movement:  Yes lots! I had my first prenatal massage last week, a sweet gift from my Mother in Law and it was loved by Mama and baby! The masseuse did a Hawaiian blessing over my bump & than rubbed my belly like I was Buddha.  Baby doll liked her touch very much because she kicked back with excitement, it was really cute.  It was a great experience and it helped relieve some of my lower back aches. I highly recommend treating yourself to a little massage during your 2nd trimester.
Food cravings: I am hooked on high fiber toast, Fuji apples, yogurt, Kids cereals, & peanuts!
Symptoms:  I was really sensitive and emotional last week.  Poor Lute & Matt have been working overtime at home. Everything makes me cry and Lute can’t stand it! He watches my every move and anticipates when the waterworks are coming on so he is prepared to attack me with his licks & love! I told Matt I was creeped out the other night because I woke up and he was right there next to the bed watching me sleep. I regularly wake myself up at night when I realize Im sleeping on my back a No No at this point in my pregnancy. Im sure I huffed/puffed to roll myself over on my left side keeping him on high alert! He must love when I leave the house these days so he can catch up on his sleep & relax.

2 THINGS

A slice of leftover Dutch Apple Pancake for lunch, from The Original Pancake House.
If you have not had this & you live in Phoenix it's a must! The OPH is located on Camelback Rd. just west of Fashion Square Mall. The diner is cash only, expect to wait for a table on the weekends, then add another 30 minutes until this deliciousness arrives at your table. This is a 1/4 of the whole pancake...it's cinnamon bun meets apple pie & worth the calories.

I love love love my Catbird heart ring I got back in May as an anniversary gift from Matt.
This ring is so delicate I sometimes forget I have it on. The heart will remind me of our love and I hope to collect and stack more of them! Check them out here

RECENT PURCHASES

1.Tory Burch
nylon Ella Tote
I bought this bag to use as my diaper bag!  After much thought & browsing through all of the Mommy type bags I just couldn't buy a standard baby bag. A lot of the diaper bags out there have busy patterns & millions of pockets that I would go crazy trying to find everything.  I chose & love this bag because black is great for everyday, it's nylon so it can be easily wiped clean, and it has a pocket for my phone/keys/& wallet without going all cargo pockets on me.
This tote is also great for traveling because it can be folded down flat or filled to the brim with magazines, toys, bottles etc. The size is just right, it can easily fit everything a new mom, dad, & baby will need on the go!

I found online at Toryburch.com and bought at the TB store in Fashion Square.

2. STYLEMINT Charlie dress

HEALTHY DUTCH APPLE PANCAKES

Follow the instructions on the box but replace with the following ingredients...

Mix whole wheat pancake batter with 2 egg whites instead of 1 egg, organic milk, natural apple sauce instead of oil I use 1 individual serving like in the picture not just a tablespoon like the box suggests, & sprinkle in a tsp of ground flax.

Pour batter in skillet, flip, & serve!

Top with your choice of fresh cut bananas, honey, agave nectar, lite syrup, etc!  Enjoy!

BUMPCAKE 23 WEEKS

Gender:  BABY GIRL!!!
How far along? 23 weeks
Baby Size:  1.5 lbs
Total weight gain: 12 lbs
Maternity clothes? I finally broke down and bought a white & a grey tank from Liz Lange for Target Maternity.  They definitely show off the bump I’m sporting these days but they are great… cheap, light, comfortable, & long what more could a girl ask for.
Exercise: I am walking as much as I can. At night I drag Matt & Lute with me for a little 30 min walk around the neighborhood.  I would like to find an exercise class that I can do 2x a week now that the weather has reached the 100’s.
Miss Anything? My balance! I have walked into several door handles this week (this really hurts), slipped & hit my wrist on the wall, banged into the shower door, & rear ended someone on my way to work. Thankfully my foot just slipped off the brake at a street light so there was no harm or damage done to either car or baby.  A light friendly bump is how I explained it to the Hubby. I have been a total walking disaster! I’m scared to move!
How my life has changed so far: Instead of admiring and labeling another females handbag or outfit, I’m now trying to identify what type of stroller she is pushing.  Is it a Bugaboo, an Uppa Baby, or maybe a BOB!  If time permits then I will take a gander at the handbag!  Oh how the priorities are a changing!
Movement: Lots of movement, I love it! She is a little night owl like her Daddy.  She loves to kick just as I lay down to get ready for bed.  It’s our little bonding time together.  My Husband felt her kick for the first time which was so special.  My Sister was over a few days ago and felt a couple of kicks too!
Food cravings: I finished an entire box of Lucky Charms in 2 days (not a proud moment).  I love fresh corn on the cob, Fuji apples, & my homemade egg white/white American cheese/fresh deli ham cooked on the skillet/bagel thin sandwiches!!
Symptoms: Are you ready for my laundry list of symptoms… I’m starting to get lower back aches, my legs, belly, & feet swell up at the end of the day I think from water retention in this heat, & lastly Charlie horses and foot cramps! They are so painful and not the way I like to be woken up in the mornings.  My leg is literally sore for 2 days afterwards.  Needless to say I’m doing stretches at night and drinking as much water as I can to avoid them from happening.

I hope this post doesn't sound like a bunch of complaints, just speaking the pregnancy truth! I'm truly enjoying my pregnancy experience & I can't believe I  will be 6 months next week!
HAPPY WEEKEND!

NURSERY PURCHASES

Lulu the Lamb
I love the clean lines, fluffy ivory fur, pale pink ears, & natural wood.  The rocker feels organic and perfectly sweet for a wee one. She definitely adds a little personality to the room.
I picked her up in Tucson with my Mom & Sister.  We talked to Lulu on our drive back & had some good laughs.
